About US
Greetings, fellow energy savers and sustainability advocates!
I’m excited to welcome you to Home Town Energy Savers, where we explore practical, proven ways to reduce energy waste, lower costs, and build a more resilient future—one building at a time.
Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Christopher Bouchard, Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.) and the editor of this blog. Over the course of my career, I’ve performed more than 500 commercial energy audits across industries ranging from healthcare and food production to entertainment, utilities, and construction. Each project has deepened my understanding of how real-world energy systems function—and how they can be optimized.
At Home Town Energy Savers, our mission is simple: to provide actionable insights and practical tools for homeowners, business owners, and energy professionals who are ready to take control of their energy use. This site is not about theory; it’s about solutions that work in the field—the kind that save energy, reduce bills, and improve comfort and reliability.
As an engineer by training and an analyst by practice, I’m passionate about bridging the gap between technical knowledge and everyday application. I believe that when people understand how energy flows through their homes and buildings, they become empowered to make smarter, more sustainable decisions.
Through this blog, I’ll be sharing lessons learned from hundreds of audits, breaking down complex topics like building envelope losses, HVAC optimization, lighting retrofits, and low-cost behavioral changes that can make a big difference. Whether you’re a facility manager looking to trim peak demand or a homeowner wondering why your attic is always too hot—this is your space.
I invite you to follow along, ask questions, and join the conversation. Together, let’s uncover the small tweaks and big ideas that can help us all save energy without sacrificing comfort or performance.
Here’s to a smarter, cleaner energy future—starting right at home.
Warm regards,
Christopher Bouchard, C.E.M.
